To gain more privileges on HF, that person(s) need to be licensed and know the rules to operate legally. US licenses are good for 10 years before renewal and anyone may hold one except a representative of a foreign government. In the US there are three license classes—Technician, General and Extra.
The world of HF Amateur Radio is vast and it starts with a 35 question FCC licensing test to upgrade that person(s) privileges. There are many places to get study material or even take practice tests. The General License Ham Radio class is part of ongoing series structured to get you to pass the test. After you pass the test there will be encouragement from the Patriot VE Team and Colorado Ready to learn more.
The class is lead and taught by ARRL register instructor(s) from both Patriot VE Team and Colorado Ready.
