Personal Item Preparedness
Net Control – Pipes and cigars. Stored a lot of favorite tobacco in case of supply chain issues. People should always have a good pocket knife and a zippo lighter.
W0DMH – Coffee stocked up on instant coffee. Dogs, not sure what he would do without the dogs.
KF0AGL – Nerdy individual. Batteries and power.
K4NYN – Family is the most important, then being the the mountains, peace, quiet and freedom. Prepping to maintain this lifestyle. Black tea, his version of coffee, strong brewed black tea. Stock up on black tea.
N0ZFV – Quality of life, time spend fishing, needs to clean garage and find tackle box. Hygene items, toothpaste, mouthwash, TP, etc.
KF0CJA – Coffee, manual hand grinder, physical books. Also wine, things like wine and other alcohol can be used as barter items.
Unknown station – Elaborate on EMP, believes that China could attack power grid with EMP. Computer control of power grid is an issue as well along with weather. More safety in power grid is in order. Outside influences are taking control with cyber attacks, we need better safeguards. Lots of static, hard to understand.
W0DMH – Power grid is vulnerable, EMP, age, cyber attacks. Local utilities are vulnerable, water services would have issues with power goes down.
KF0CJA – Seen a lot of examples lately of issues with grid (Texas weather), pipeline, meat packing, etc. Need to try to prepare for as much of this as we can, but it’s difficult to know everthing.
Net Control – Supply chain issues with gasoline. Can’t get enough drivers to deliver gas to stations.
KJ7DHI – Power grid goes down, gas stations can’t pump fuel. May have to BYOG (bring your own generator) to gas station. Gas would still be in underground tanks, but wouldn’t be able to get it out. Would gas stations even be able to secure their underground tanks?
Net Control – Without electricity, no banking. May need armed guards at stations to protect gasoline.
KJ7DHI – CDL truck driver, has delivered propane. They do need electic to bring the fuel up out of tanks. The tank caps may or may not be locked because they get deliveries at all hoursof the day. Also, if you store gasoline in small quantities only has a shelf life of about 3 months. Larger quantities with stableizer to be store for up to a couple years.
